Start with the pattern
Low back pain is a symptom with several possible explanations. Muscles, joints, discs and nerves can contribute, and the location of discomfort does not identify its cause on its own. Notice whether the pain stays in your back or travels elsewhere. Tell the clinician if it began after a specific event or developed gradually over time.
Make the visit useful
Describe the activities that have become difficult: getting into a car, standing at work, lifting groceries or sleeping. Explain what eases the discomfort and what aggravates it. A history and physical examination help the clinician decide on the next step. Imaging may be useful in selected circumstances, but it is not automatically necessary for every episode of back pain.
Discuss a plan you understand
The Kendall office offers chiropractic services and spinal decompression, including its DRX9000 system. Availability does not mean a treatment is suitable for everyone. Ask which findings support a recommendation, what alternatives exist and how improvement will be evaluated. A plan may also involve guidance about movement or referral when another type of assessment is needed.
Keep the conversation going
If symptoms interfere with everyday life or continue to worsen, arrange a review instead of repeatedly changing treatments on your own. Track practical changes, such as how long you can sit comfortably, rather than relying on a single pain score. Ask the clinician which activities you can continue and what should lead you to call again.
Questions to take with you
Ask whether the examination suggests a concern that needs further testing, what a proposed treatment is intended to change, and what choices you have if you prefer another approach. It can help to write these questions down before the appointment. Include one or two activities that matter most to you so the discussion remains practical.
Your visit in Kendall
To arrange a non-emergency appointment, phone (305) 388-7577. Bring a medication list and any relevant records you already have. Mention care you are receiving elsewhere so the conversation includes that context. Visit the Kendall location: 12595 S.W. 137th Avenue, Suite 108, in Miami. Call before your visit to discuss insurance or self-pay arrangements and current availability.
When to seek urgent help
Seek emergency assessment for new loss of bladder or bowel control, numbness in the groin area, or severe or worsening leg weakness. Back pain after major trauma also needs urgent medical attention.
